This is a list I am working on, a list of things I would make a couple go through if they wanted my blessings for their marriage. Like if I was a Rabbi, Priest or the like.
So the purpose of this, is to benchmark the relationship with various scenarios. I would put the couple to be wed, through the following over a period of a few weeks. Maybe not all of these, but at lease a handful.
-Complex Ikea Closet build, an evening or one day.
-Two mornings and evenings, at least 4 hours at a time. No phones, just a notebook or a simple book. In an large oncology waiting room noting the patients.
-Work on a DIY messy project together, gardening or painting. At least two days.
-Three day road trip, no hotels, car only and limited funds.
-Cooking for one another, 3 large complex meals. Skill level not taken into account.
-Go out one night, in a different city, if it helps. With close to impoverished clothes. Not dirty or ripped but very close to low end clothing and shoes.
-Go to airport on public transportation.
-Sell one or various items worth $500 USD
-Interview each other’s parents, edit and post to share. At lease 30min
-Start a small job or gig, that earns at least $1,000 USD
